Skill development &
job ready support

MGNM also helps job seekers to be ready for work as soon as opportunities arise. This may be in the form of skill development, or other job ready services.

Skill development

MGNM is committed to empowering job seekers with meaningful opportunities for growth and development. This includes providing training to assist job seekers in enhancing their employability.

This year, job seekers have participated in programs including:

  • First aid and CPR training

  • Scuba Diver training

  • Working at Safely at Heights

  • Power Tools and Hand Tools

  • Chainsaw Operation

Job ready support

MGNM helps jobseekers by providing support and resources to help them become job-ready. This includes the ever-popular job club, which has recently expanded to offer resume and cover letter days.

These sessions are designed to support local job seekers to craft new resumes and cover letters or refresh old versions of these important documents.

MGNM also partners with other organisations, such as the Indigenous Driver Licensing Program. The program help participants get their drivers’ licences and photo IDs, and also teaches safe driving practices.
